UltraTech completed the acquisition of Century's cement business, with the Scheme of Demerger  effective from 1 October 2019. In the quarter ending 31 March 2019, on a standalone basis, UltraTech Cement saw its domestic net sales increase by 18 per cent YoY to INR103.34bn. The domestic sales volume jumped 16 per cent YoY with the clinker capacity at Manavar, Madhya Pradesh, now operating at 100 per cent utilisation. Binani Cement has announced that it will be changing its name to UltraTech Nathdwara Cement Ltd, following the company’s acquisition by UltraTech on 20 November. UltraTech Cement’s capacity in the northern region will be enhanced to 24Mta, with the producer expected to become one of the strongest in the market.
